In 2016, Tom Poberezny was inducted into The National Aviation Hall of Fame. Very few Hall enshrinees can claim his breadth of aviation experience and accomplishment. Tom was a National Individual Unlimited Aerobatic Champion, and member of the United States World Championship Men’s Aerobatic Team. For more than 30 years he served as chairman of EAA Airventure Oshkosh, growing it into the largest aviation event in the western hemisphere, and one of the premier events in the world. He also served as CEO and Chairman of the The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). While doing all of that, he flew hundreds of airshows as a member of the legendary “Eagles”, the most successful civilian aerobatic team in history. He fathered aviation’s most successful youth aviation program, originating EAA’s Young Eagles in 1992. The program has now flown over 2 million young people. He also served as a member of the National Centennial of Flight Committee. “The Unexpected” is Tom Poberezny’s own story, told in his own words. Produced by Sleeping Dog Productions.
